John C. Newhall has been married to his wife Patti for over 42 years. They have been blessed with 4 children and as of now, 10 grandchildren. John spent his career on Wall St. in the Global Equity Trading area, as a member of the NYSE and other principal exchanges. John was Ordained in 2009 and is currently Pastoral Minister of Parish Social Ministries and Liaison to the Parish Council. John also serves the Parish of Most Precious Blood at Davis Park Fire Island during the summer months. John thoroughly enjoys working with all the dedicated volunteers in the many ministries of this wonderful Parish.
Edward Tappin and his late wife, Margaret, were married for fifty five years and were blessed with four children, three boys and one girl. They have ten grandchildren, ranging in age from one year to thirty years of age, and three great –grand children aged three years to nine years. He is retired after spending forty years as a senior electrical designer with Con Edison. He has been a volunteer fireman for twenty six years and has served as a chaplain for the last ten years in the Holbrook F.D. Until this past year he spent thirty years as the blood drive chairman for the Knights of Columbus and Holbrook F.D. He has personally donated more than sixteen gallons of life saving blood. Eddie was ordained on May 17, 2008. His principle ministries are marriage preparation with Pre-Cana, and Foccus. He is the staff liaison and member of the Good Shepherd Seniors Club, Friendship Garden, and Parish Retreats.
Deacon Tom O'Connor
My wife MaryAnn and I were Married in 1964 and I was Ordained a deacon in 1994. We have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. I have been serving the Parish of the Good Shepherd since June of 2004. I also work as a civil engineer for a local company. As a deacon, I have faculties from the Bishop to Baptize, perform wedding ceremonies, preside at wake services and preach. All these I do with the support and approval of our Pastor. My primary ministries are pastoral care of the sick and the RCIA process. I coordinate the Eucharist Ministers who visit people in their homes with communion for those who can not make it to Mass, especially Sachem Adult home and Sachem Adult home. I am also the staff contact person fo rthe RCIA process. My wife and I are also advocates for the tribunal, assisting individuals with the annulment process. Please contact us for information.
