MUSIC MINISTRY
Adult Choir
According to Webster's dictionary, a Choir is a group of singers used in a Church Service. However, the Good Shepherd Choir is so much more than that. For the members, it's a place of belonging where we can share our diverse talents and bring something "extra" to each Celebration. The genuine affection of our members for one another and our Ministry is reflected in the quality of our contribution to the Parish.
We owe so much to the dedication and devotion to members such as Linda, who has been in the Choir for over 30 years! We are so grateful for the ones who make us laugh, especially Anne D. We are also grateful for the ones who are not afraid to sing out the first note like Deirdre, Mary and Jayne. Honorable Mention belongs to our man Francis, who brings out that wonderful Tenor line like only he can do. We're grateful for those who work so hard and practice on their own, like Karen and Deirdre, so that they can be as good as they can be for all of us. Where would we be without our accompanist Carl who moves from the organ to the piano and back again with such ease!
From our hard working Sopranos to our ever dependable Altos, each member of our Choir contributes to Good Shepherd's Spiritual Life.
If you are interested in finding out more about us, leave your name and phone number in the Church Office at 588-7689.

Folk Group
The Good Shepherd Folk Group is a contemporary music ensemble of vocalists and instrumentalists who lead the assembly in song at the 10:00am mass on Sundays, as well as several other liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Our music enables the assembly to be active participants in the mass, by encouraging those who gather to join together in song. Music is an integral part of any liturgical celebration and very often, it is the music that touches people in a special way. It enables the assembly to focus on a particular action, respond in a meaningful way or get in touch with their inner-most being.
We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 8:00pm – 9:30pm in the church. Aside from the actual work of rehearsing the music and sharing our gifts and talents, this is an opportunity for us to gather as friends and support each other in times of joy as well as in times of sadness. Many of us have been involved in parish life in various ways for a number of years, and others have joined our group to become more involved in the life of the parish. We are always seeking to expand the group by attracting students in 9th grade or above, and adults of any age who have the ability to sing. Anyone interested in learning more about the Good Shepherd Folk Group can contact the church office at 588-7689 and leave a message for Jim Marino.
